Melinda Johansson – Development Director
Melinda Johansson joined the Joy of Music School in December 2021. Melinda has spent the better part of the past 20 years raising money and awareness for nonprofit organizations. Prior to that, she was a C-level Executive Assistant and Office Administrator for corporations in the Los Angeles area.
Prior to joining the School, she has been providing freelance fundraising, marketing, and copywriting services for a number of nonprofits including the Foodbank of Santa Barbara County, Easy Lift Transportation, The Mend House Sober Living Community, Family Service Agency, Life Without Limbs, and more. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from UCLA.
A southern-California native, Melinda moved to Knoxville with her husband in April 2020. She enjoys spending time with family, walking the hills of Knoxville listening to her favorite music playlist, writing, reading real books (and some on Kindle), praying, nursing her 17-year-old cat named Ruckus, and collecting all things Wonder Woman.
