Group Classes

Music Makers

Who: 8-12 year olds

What: An opportunity for students who like to sing and who may be on the waiting list for private lessons. Music Makers meet weekly with a target performance at our annual Christmas fundraiser, “Holiday Sparkles & Spirits”. This is a very important event for the School and a great opportunity to showcase our students’ talent!

General Music

Who: 6-7 year olds

What: Students learn about different instruments and styles of music, play hand percussion and learn basic notation and rhythmic skills. Musicians present performance demonstrations of a wide variety of music for the students. A weekly starter class (1/2 hour).

Baritone Ukulele 1 & 2

Who: 9-10 year olds who want to learn to play the guitar.

What: A weekly beginner guitar class on baritone ukuleles. Baritone ukuleles are a good way to start learning how to play the guitar for younger students because they are way easier to play than a guitar and fit a smaller hand. They are tuned the same as the top 4 strings of a guitar, so once a student has achieved good position, hand strength and basic skills on the ukulele it is easy to transition to guitar. The Ukulele Class is a pre-requisite for private guitar lessons.

Music Production & Engineering for Teens (MPET)

Who: 13-18 year olds

What: Multimedia Production and Engineering for Teens (MPET) combines technology, music theory, and songwriting to teach teenagers the ins and outs of audio and video production. Students learn how to track and mix their own compositions using state-of-the-art recording software. They are introduced to the concepts of video production and how to create music for television and film.
