We are thrilled to spotlight Yana, an exceptional student who has been part of the Joy of Music School (JoMS) since 2016. Over the years, Yana has demonstrated remarkable dedication, not only in her musical pursuits but also in her academic achievements.

Yana’s journey at JoMS has been enriched by her long-standing relationship with her piano teacher, Rachel Carvell Trofatter, who has been a dedicated volunteer at the school since 2003. Rachel began working with Yana in 2017, and together, they have cultivated a deep passion for music that has led to impressive results, including consistent Federation Festival Superior ratings for four consecutive years (2022-2025).

In addition to her musical success, Yana’s academic achievements are equally inspiring. She has been accepted to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville (UTK), with a full scholarship to the prestigious Haslam College of Business, where she will study Accounting and Information Management starting in Fall 2025. This incredible opportunity is a testament to Yana’s hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in all aspects of her life.
