Joy of Music School Welcomes Lisa Muci Eckhoff as New Strings Program Lead
Knoxville, Tenn. – November 6, 2023– The Joy of Music School, a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to providing free music education to underserved children in the Knoxville community, is proud to announce the appointment of Lisa Muci Eckhoff as its new Strings Program Lead. Ms. Muci Eckhoff, currently serving with distinction as Executive Director of the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association, will join the Joy of Music School team in December.
Ms. Muci Eckhoff brings a wealth of experience and a passion for music education to her role, a new position at the Joy of Music School. Her impressive track record as a music educator and her dedication to nurturing young talent make her the perfect choice to lead the School’s expanding strings program.
Ms. Muci Eckhoff began her musical journey at an early age, mastering the violin, also performing on the viola, and studying the viola d’amore. She has since become a respected figure in the world of music education and performance. She has previously served as the Head of the Violin Department at Knoxville’s Community School of the Arts. She was a core violinist with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra for over 20 years. Lisa served as both violinist and mentor in the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra and its Touring Orchestra. She was Program Director and Acting Executive Director with Arts Partners of Wichita, a Young Audiences Affiliate. In addition, Ms. Eckhoff has presented and performed in numerous orchestral and chamber music performances throughout her career.
Lisa’s vision for the future of youth music education aligns seamlessly with the mission of the Joy of Music School, which provides children in underserved communities with the opportunity to experience the benefits of the art and discipline of musical training. The tuition-free School believes that music can be a transformative force in the lives of young people, and it is certain Ms. Muci Eckhoff will play a vital role in bringing this vision to life.
